A Long Time Coming

Been a while since an update, I guess we don't live such exciting lives now that the house is built. Just a couple of highlights:
  1. Jon had surgery on his ankle to repair a torn tendon
  2. The Brooks family came down from Cleveland for Thanksgiving
  3. Missy missed a step on the stairs and broke her foot
  4. Jack was in a Christmas show at our Church

Just Like Christmas Morning.

We closed on the house on Friday and started moving Saturday. We have a brand new house, both boys have new beds and bedrooms plus a toy room and the only thing they wanted to do was play with the moving boxes.

90% of our stuff is out of Leah's house and the movers are coming today to get our stuff out of storage, been a long weekend of setting up everything and hanging ceiling fans.

Getting Closer

Here is just a quick photo of the granite and appliances, tomorrow will be final paint touch-ups and final cleaning.

Granite

Just a couple of preliminary pictures of the granite install. Also a rare glimpse at the real life Bob the Builder, just a simple guy who works for Ashford, I kept asking where Pilchard or Dizzy or Scoop was, but he didn't seem amused.

Closing Date?

It appears that Ashford wants to close on the house next Friday 11-7. Place is coming along, second coat of paint is on, faucets in, water turned on and toilets flush, place is looking good.

Crash and Burn

The blog might not get updated in the next week or so, my camera has crashed and Ashford has locked me out of the house. I asked for a key to get in or out of the house and they said I would get a key at closing, which hurt my feelings. Anyway, I'll see if I can't resurrect an old camera and get some photos up.

Basically the trim carpenter is on site setting cabinets, doors, and moulding everywhere. AC unit has been set, power has been terminated at the street so things are moving right along.
