End in Sight
Things are starting to come together, inside the house they are begining to finish the drywall, the brick is done (although the vent above the garage needs to be moved about 10' lower than it is). Outside, they should start working on final grade next week.

Back From Vacation
We made it back from vacation early Saturday morning, only to come home to no power and trees down everywhere. Still don't have power today, so to say the least it has been fun this weekend. House is coming along, next step is drywall which should happen this week. I added interior insulation throughout the house more for sound than anything but it looks great.
Brick has started, Missy thinks it is the wrong brick, so that will be interesting once they investigate, they finally figured out the grade on the house was incorrect so they had to dig out the foundation and respray the waterproofing. Once the drywall is done, we will get a pretty accurate date for move in, but it probably won't be until the second week in November.
Storm of the century took down a few trees back in the woods, and one close to the house, if it would have snapped a little lower, it probably would have hit the house. Ashford has to remove it so that is nice.

Time to Start Finishes
All the contractors are trying to get out of the house, electrician, HVAC and plumbers are finishing the rough-ins. Walker and I spent 3 hours on Friday putting in speaker wire for the whole house audio, the roofing finally got done and framers are still on site finishing punch list items. Looks like we should do insulation and drywall next week, not sure when the siding or brick work is going to start.

Bad With the Good
Well, it is construction and all can't quite go as planned, even when you try and warn them. The house got completely flooded on Friday, a lot of the HVAC duct work that was installed saw heavy water. The floor has already been screwed down at the seams, will have to wait and see how much it swells, shrinks, bows and settles out. First thing I said to the new Project Manager on Monday was about how concerned I was that the house was not dried in yet...I guess I should have pressed a little harder against his blank stare.
