Deck Boards Done

Well, all the deck boards are down, but it is missing a lot of screws, so that will take some time. I ended up 1" short on the deck boards. I'm going to see how it looks with the railing on, if it looks bad, I am going to find a trim piece to fit in there. Rains are coming in this weekend so probably not much happening this weekend.

Break in the Weather

Well, got outside last night and was able to use a new tool, the almighty BOWRENCH. It made life a little easier to snug up the boards by myself so I made some good progress, deck boards are all but done.

Here comes the rain...

It is spring and the rains have settled in, a good chance of rain just about everyday so it might take a while to finish up the deck.

Well, my big brother came down this weekend and we knocked out a good portion of the deck, unfortunately the camera is at the house and I can't upload any pictures, but you will have to imagine how awesome it looks!

We got all of the joists installed and have 1/2 of the decking installed.

Keep on Moving

Got a lot of show-wood up, I'm letting that angle on the deck get the best of me. I need to set up some string lines and get my corner set and just move on. Very hard to do this layout by myself.

I'm ready to set all of the support beams, all of the posts are set and anchored!

Long Day

Got everything ready for putting up the wood. Missy and I spread a bunch of gravel yesterday.

Ready for Lumber

Well, got everything done I wanted to on Friday, here is the update. Maybe get some landscaping fabric down and some river rock in tomorrow.

Progress?

The building skills are a little rusty, plus with the boys helping at every turn, not much got done. Actually the ledger board is up 100% now and all of the holes are dug for posts. Inspection is on for today, concrete pouring tonight and possible setting some framing this weekend. I have Dad's and Donuts at the boys preschool Saturday Morning, the boys are spending the night at the Abbott's and we are having dinner with a few friends Saturday night, so I don't forsee too much work going on this weekend, but at least we will be out of the ground.

Another Project On the Horizon

Just in time for spring, and to take advantage of the plunging building material market, we have decided to put a deck on the house. Seems just like yesterday, I built a deck somewhere else? HMMM, any way, I'll try and keep up with it and take some photos.
