First Day of Kindergarten

Well, Jack made it on the bus and over to his school. His backpack is not in yet, so he borrowed one of ours, we put a mario paper plate in there so he would know which one was his.

All the parents were able to go to the school and watch them get off the bus. He looked a tad bit overwhelmed and tired already but he was a trooper about the whole thing. He is on the bus for an hour in the morning going stop to stop to stop. Waiting anxiously on the report when he gets back to the house at lunch time.

Kindergarten

Jack starts Kindergarten next week and they had orientations this week. He gets to wear this sweet blue mesh trucker hat for the next month. It has his name, address and phone number on it along with his bus number.

It is too great....

Dayton Dragon's Game

A friend of ours in the neighborhood sent us a website to get 4 free tickets to a Dayton Dragons game (a minor league team in downtown Dayton affiliated with the Reds). The tickets also included a behind the scenes tour of the stadium (which Danis actually built back in 2000). It was super cool and the boys loved it.

Jack got the camera for a while and took some of these pics.

Poor Man's Wainscoting

I've been bugging Missy to let me try to install some trim work in the house, so she let me do the nursery. We think it turned out great.

I kept the original 4.5" baseboard, added 50 lineal feet or 3.5" chairrail, 120 lineal feet of 1.5" trim for the shadow boxes (which made 12 boxes) and 40 lineal feet of window casing.

Took about 14 hours including cutting, installing and painting. Total cost was $120 (including paint).

Missy thought it was a pain, a lot of detail work, but I didn't think it was too bad, learned some lessons as always.

Boys of Summer

The boys had their last Tee-Ball game. On the way I asked them what they thought and they both said "I hate tee-ball, I get all sweaty and it is too hot". Saturday was no different, heat index at 9:00 a.m. had to be close to 100 degrees with high humidity, all 16 kids on the field were acting very lethargic, can't even imagine what the 1:00 game was like.

Boys Playing Tee Ball

Kind of hard to get any video of the calamity, would be a lot of kids running around and acting crazy, so here are just some more batting videos.

Deck Staining Party

Speaking of to do lists, Missy has made a pre-birth to do list (crikey), one of the major things was to get the deck stained. I had been trying to get it stained since the spring, but the rainy weather plus her work schedule hampered that. I just decided to go for it, got a hold of Chin, Steve-O and Phil to come and help. In my opinion, it looks good from a far but is far from good. I learned some lessons about staining a deck to say the least. here is the before picture, after it was cleaned and the final product. Once we put the furniture back up, it won't look so bad.

Boys Only Weekend

While Missy was on her girls trip, the boys made a "to do" list with Dad. The list consisted of: Dad plays Mario Kart with us, Dad plays chase (basically I chase the boys around the house, hide from them and then tickle them), play putt putt, play real golf and go fishing. The only thing we didn't get accomplished was the fishing part. We hope to do that soon.

We also bought Wii Sports Resorts, this video was hilarious in my opinion.
